Scope Seismic tomography models led us to a new class of mantle dynamic modeling incorporating various surface observables. We summarize the current status of mantle imaging and modeling, identify issues to be resolved, discuss how they are further improved by observations, and explore clues to integrate physically different processes observable in different disciplines into geodynamic modeling.
Notes This is an international session which has been organized jointly with EGU members. Please be aware of the mission of the session and join us in the endeavor to promote scientific interactions and exchanges between JpGU and EGU. Please prepare your presentation to complete in 12 min. and use 2 to 3 min. for questions, discussion and switching to the next presenter.
