Scope	The executive board of International Union of Geological Sciences ratified ICS(International Commission on Stratigraphy) recommendation on redefinition of Pleistocene and formal definition of base of Quaternary on July 29th in 2009. Japanese communities on geosciences have to make the response to it as soon as possible. We will discuss it with broader perspective.
