Scope On July 22, 2009, a total eclipse occurred in East Asia. On this occasion, which was the first total eclipse after 46 years in Japan, many kinds of observation of atmosphere and ionosphere were conducted. In this session, we discuss the issues on atmosphere ? ionosphere coupling from the results of these observations.
