Scope The 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake (MJMA = 9.0) occurred offshore of the northeast region of Japan on March 11th, 2011. This session aims to bring together geoscientists studying the mainshock, following seismic activities, and related geoscientific phenomena on various fields. Contributions from seismic activity, physics of earthquake generation, dynamic and kinematic source process, tectonics, active faults, seismic structures, historical records of earthquakes and tsunamis, and tsunamis are highly welcomed.
