Scope The ferromanganese oxide deposits are integrated precipitates of hydrogenetic iron and manganese oxide with minor useful metal elements. The recent exploration of the deposits using ROV mapping and deep-sea drill provide us with new findings on mineralogy, geochemistry, microbiology, and physical engineering. The session reposts the results of munti-disciplinary, multi-institutional investigation of origin, growth process, resource potential of hydrogenetic and diagenetic ferromanganese nodules and crusts in the Northwestern Pacific oceans.
Notes The same as the first convener. For alternatives, co-conveners or speakers will chair the session.
